Domain name transfer procedures and considerations
A. Domain name transfer procedures :
STEP 1: All domain name transfer procedures start by filling
in the box above and completing the forms.
STEP 2: The current administrative contact of the domain
name will receive one or more e-mails from the TLD Registrar(s) on
which he needs to reply to confirm the domain name transfer. If
the administrative mailbox is not in service anymore, please contact UniWeb
at support@uniweb.be after completing
STEP 1
STEP 3: UniWeb will notify you of the successful
transfer.
Don't hesitate to contact us if you have questions about the transfer
procedures.
B. Considerations
The domain name transfer conditions depend on the top-level domain
(TLD)
Type 1 TLD domain names (.com, .org, .net, .biz, .info)
For most domain names the 'registration period' you select during the
transfer process is added to your current term. You are only charged for the
addition period which is added to your current term. No transfer cost
are charged by UniWeb. The fee includes all registration fees for an
additional year of registration, which is added to your current term.
Example: You registered the domain name yourcompany.com
on the 12th of September 2002. If you transfer this domain name to UniWeb on the
20th of June 2003, you will have to pay the annual fee. The next renewal date
will be on 12 september 2004.
Type 2 TLD domain names (be, ...)
When you transfer a .be domain name from one agent to another, it will be
considered as a new registration. This means that you will be charged 1 year fee
and the next expire date (day and month) will be exacly one year after the date
of transfer.
Example: You registered the domain name
yourcompany.be on the 12th of September 2002. If you transfer this domain name
to UniWeb on the 20th of June 2003, you will have to pay the annual fee. The
next renewal date will be on 20 June 2004.
